What is Functional Medicine?
Functional medicine describes an approach doctors take when evaluating a patient.
In traditional western medicine the approach is one complaint leads to one diagnosis. If there are more complaints then not all are addressed in a single visit. Each complaint is viewed as independent. That approach focuses on one problem. one diagnosis , one treatment.
In the Function medicine approach we see one body, we believe its all connected, and we address all symptoms that collectively point to systems/organs that are out of balance. The goal in function medicine is to identify what systems are out of balance through a history and physical exam, extensive laboratory evaluation and energetic evaluation. The goal of the functional medicine treatment plan is to bring those systems back into balance. We do this with a combination of lifestyle, nutrients, supplements, homeopathy, energy medicine, acupuncture and many other healing modalities.
Functional Medicine cares for the whole person.

Do you become my Primary Care Physician?
Although I am a Board Certified Family Physician, I do not practice as a Primary Care Physician (PCP). I strongly recommend you either have a PCP or an urgent care that you can use in urgent/emergent situations. If you have seen a PCP or urgent care and you want a natural treatment or solution to your problem you can schedule a visit with me through the patient portal.
What do I do if I have an emergency?
Call 911 or seek emergent care immediately. I do not handle emergencies in office or over the phone.
